Laborer (Service/Holewatch/Firewatch)
About this role
1. Communicates with others to perform the job tasks. 2. Safely operates motor vehicle. 3. Runs errands to support of the work site. 4. Must be able to safely traverse uneven terrain with / without tools and building materials. 5. Performs a variety of tasks involving safe dexterous use of hand tools. 6. Manipulates and generally understands the safe use of different types of power and manual construction tools. 7. Digs, spreads, and levels dirt and gravel, to fine grade specifications using ha. This is a construction opportunity with Bechtel in Brownsville, Cameron County. General construction and site work — building, remodeling, and preparing structures. Crews handle everything from foundations and framing to demolition and finish work, often outdoors and on active job sites.
What you'll do
- Prepare and clean job sites, load and unload materials
- Assist skilled trades with framing, concrete, and structural work
- Operate hand and power tools safely
- Follow site safety protocols and wear required PPE
- Measure, cut, and position building materials to spec
