Carpenter / Steel Fabricator – Sheet Metal Department Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Carpenter / Steel Fabricator to join our Sheet Metal Department. This position is responsible for fabricating, assembling, fitting, and installing structural and light-gauge steel components used in prefabricated modular systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, steel fabrication, metal framing, or structural steel, with the ability to read drawings, take accurate. This is a welding and fabrication opportunity with Epsilon Industries in Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County. Welding and metal fabrication — joining, cutting, and shaping steel and other metals. Welders read fabrication drawings and produce strong, precise joints in shop or field settings.
What you'll do
- Weld using MIG, TIG, or stick as required
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings
- Cut and grind metal to spec
- Inspect welds for strength and quality
- Follow shop safety and PPE requirements
