Carpentry Assistant / Construction Helper – Role Summary Required Skills: Ability to read a tape measure accurately Competence with basic hand tools (hammer, screwdrivers, etc.) Ability to operate basic power tools (such as drills) safely Strong attention to detail Previous experience in rough carpentry or finish carpentry is an asset Daily Responsibilities: Follow instructions from the lead carpenter Pick up, move, and organize materials on site Assist with asse. This is a carpentry opportunity with Boydell Development Company in Detroit, Wayne County. Carpentry and cabinetry — framing, trim, cabinetry, and finish work. Carpenters measure, cut, and assemble wood and composite materials for both rough and fine finishing.
What you'll do
- Frame walls, install trim, doors, and cabinetry
- Measure and cut lumber accurately
- Read and work from construction drawings
- Use saws, drills, and finishing tools
- Ensure level, square, and plumb results
