Engineer I - Open Until Filled
About this role
Under general supervision manages all phases of County engineering projects from conceptualization and initial funding through construction and close out in the design and construction of infrastructure improvement projects; performs development plan and permit review; provides professional staff assistance to engineering management, other departments, and the public in areas of expertise; confers with developers, contractors, and representatives of other agencies regarding facility and infrast. This is a construction opportunity with County of Madera in Madera, Madera County. General construction and site work — building, remodeling, and preparing structures. Crews handle everything from foundations and framing to demolition and finish work, often outdoors and on active job sites.
What you'll do
- Prepare and clean job sites, load and unload materials
- Assist skilled trades with framing, concrete, and structural work
- Operate hand and power tools safely
- Follow site safety protocols and wear required PPE
- Measure, cut, and position building materials to spec
