About this role

Position Details: \n \n \n2nd Shift: Monday-Friday 3:30pm - 12:00am\n \n \n15% Differential effect on 2nd Shift\n \n Your Expertise: \n \n \n \n Certification in GTAW; AWS D17.1; PWA 16 (in any group material) \n 3-5 years of welding experience required \n Pass the welding certification tests for current materials used in the shop \n Read, interpret, and process blueprints and operation sheets \n Capable of using all standard bench tools and gauges required for setup, inspection. This is a welding and fabrication opportunity with Barnes Group in East Granby, Hartford County. Welding and metal fabrication — joining, cutting, and shaping steel and other metals. Welders read fabrication drawings and produce strong, precise joints in shop or field settings.

  • Weld using MIG, TIG, or stick as required
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings
  • Cut and grind metal to spec
  • Inspect welds for strength and quality
  • Follow shop safety and PPE requirements
