We're expanding our team and are looking for a skilled carpenter to help build custom crates to support our growing sheet metal production needs. Position Overview: As a Carpenter at Baird and Wilson Sheetmetal, you will be responsible for designing and constructing custom. This is a welding and fabrication opportunity with Baird & Wilson Sheet Metal in Knoxville, Knox County. Welding and metal fabrication — joining, cutting, and shaping steel and other metals. Welders read fabrication drawings and produce strong, precise joints in shop or field settings.
What you'll do
- Weld using MIG, TIG, or stick as required
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings
- Cut and grind metal to spec
- Inspect welds for strength and quality
- Follow shop safety and PPE requirements
