About this role

The Boyd Group is seeking a Collision Auto Body Technician to join our performance-driven, safety-focused automotive team. In our modern collision repair facilities, you will complete structural and cosmetic repairs, panel replacement, frame straightening, plastic repair and refinishing to OEM and company standards. You’ll use computerized measuring systems, welders and refinishing equipment while following strict safety and quality processes. Collaborate with estimators and painters, document. This is a welding and fabrication opportunity with The Boyd Group in Lafayette, Lafayette Parish. Welding and metal fabrication — joining, cutting, and shaping steel and other metals. Welders read fabrication drawings and produce strong, precise joints in shop or field settings.

  • Weld using MIG, TIG, or stick as required
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings
  • Cut and grind metal to spec
  • Inspect welds for strength and quality
